Festival Triumph

The 122nd anniversary of Ilocos Sur National High School, held on March 9, 2024, was a momentous occasion that brought together students, teachers, and alumni in a celebration of school pride and community spirit. The highlight of the event was a series of competitions that was participated by students from different grade levels against each other in friendly rivalry. Among the most exciting competitions was one that showcased the talents of students in grades 7 through 10, with Grade 9 girls and Grade 10 boys emerging as the overall champions after a day of intense competition and teamwork.

As a participant in the event, I found myself caught up in the excitement and energy of the day. From early morning preparations to the final moments of victory, the experience was both exhilarating and exhausting. Yet, despite the physical demands of the competitions, there was an undeniable sense of camaraderie and joy among all the students involved. We laughed, cheered, and encouraged each other throughout the day, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

The competitions themselves were a reflection of the cultural diversity and richness of the regions represented. With a focus on festivals from Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Nueva, and Cebu, students had the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and appreciation of their heritage. Each performance was a hard work and dedication of both the students and their teachers, who had spent days preparing for the event. And before the competitions began, the entire school came together for a colorful parade, marching proudly through the streets and adding to the festive atmosphere of the day. Overall, the 122nd anniversary of Ilocos Sur National High School was a day filled with excitement, laughter, and celebration, highlighting the vibrant spirit of the school community.
